Arthritis is a foot condition that affects millions of people world wide. However, it presents itself as most bothersome in the hip, knee and foot since the joints within those structures bear most of the bodies weight. There are many different forms of arthritis, but those most common in the feet include Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis, and each present with different Arthritic symptoms.
Arthritis Symptoms include dull, achy pain that generally worsens with activity. In some forms, however, the painful symptoms may resolve with activity as the joints loosen up. Once arthritis has developed, it is difficult to correct, so preventative measures are key in reducing your risk of developing painful arthritis.
Generally, those with flat feet and fallen arches tend to develop arthritis, predominantly in the big toe joint and knee. Often, these individuals would require anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy, and custom foot orthotics to lessen the painful symptoms.
